Dear Resident
You are receiving this because you live in the vicinity of a burglary that occurred on Thursday 12th March this occurred in the early hours between 0420hrs and 0500hrs, and the method of attack was by snapping the cylinder lock allowing entry.
UNKNOWN SUSPECT HAS ATTENDED LOCUS IN THE EARLY HOURS OF THE MORNING. SUSPECT HAS CHECKED VICTIMS CAR THAT IS PARKED ON THE DRIVE BEFORE CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE LOCK OF THE REAR DOOR AND GAINED ENTRY. SUSPECT HAS CONDUCTED AN UNTIDY SEARCH UNTIL THE KEY FOR THE CAR HAS BEEN LOCATED. SUSPECT HAS THEN GAINED ACCESS TO THE CAR USING THE KEY AND DRIVEN AWAY, BLOCKING THE CARS TRACKER VIA UNKNOWN MEANS
Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it between Thursday 12th March 0420hrs and 0500hrs to check if you had any activations.
Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock.
Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks. Whilst we do not wish to scare anyone, it is always good to review your own security, and report anything suspicious to the Police. Should you have any information about either burglary please contact us on 101. Thanks
